A couple of days ago, I decided to do some much needed retail therapy. I’m in the midst of changing up my wardrobe anyway but, I’m not keen on the idea of breaking the bank. As you know, I grew up in a small town so there are many stores that I shop at today, that I had no idea even existed growing up. When I found out about Forever21, my life changed! Their trends are everything right along with their prices. I’ve been shopping there for about two years now and I don’t regret a single purchase that I’ve ever made. Of course, they were on the top of my list when I decided I needed a wardrobe change. I used to be obsessed with bright colors growing up. Most of my closet consisted of bright pinks, purples, and yellows; every outfit that I wore was color coordinated down to the accessories. I’ll admit, I was a little over the top but, now that I’m older, it’s a complete 180. Now, I’m into more neutral/earthy tones: brown, black, gray, navy, burgundy, mustard yellow, olive green.
Forever21 has been the perfect source of some great finds that match exactly what I’m looking for. When I walk in, I head straight to the back where the clearance section is and I go completely nuts. That would be a terrible thing had the timing been about 4 years ago but, now that I try to get the most bang for my buck, I find myself walking out with a ton of clothes for a small cost. I try to stick with items that are $7 or less but, recently, their clearance items have been an extra 50% off. I upped my range to $20 or less and I found some really chic yet, simple clothing. I read How to Minimize Your Wardrobe: Minimalist Closet by Lanesha recently and I’m definitely going to try the 37 outfits per season idea. With the clothing I’ve been finding, I think that would be the perfect way to get started on my goal of switching out my entire closet. Plus, like I said, I’m into the more toned down look now so there are a lot of clothes that I’m looking to get rid of. Pretty soon, I’ll have this minimalist thing down to a T with the perfect trend that I’m aiming for.
Lastly, like many stores that I love, Forever21 uses the RetailMeNot app. If you don’t have this app or even know what it is, let me enlighten you. RetailMeNot is an app that has coupons for almost any store you can think of; along with letting you know what the upcoming sales are. You can create a list of your favorite stores and the app will send you notifications every time you’re near one of your favorites. Imagine buying $100 worth of clothes on clearance that are an extra 50% off plus having a $10 off coupon. You walk out spending about $40 or so on a $100 purchase. Shopping doesn’t get much better than that. Just this past weekend I was able to get $60 worth of clothes for a little over $30. Mission accomplished!
If you’re a frequent Forever21 shopper, I hope I’ve shed some light on you to form some new shopping habits to get the best deals. If you’re not then maybe you will be now. You won’t regret it! Here’s some purchases that I’ve recently made:
